This section covers faults or problems with application software and the operating system. Services include assistance with

System Slowdown: Many computers run more slowly with time. When the system get cluttered with failed installation/uninstallations or you run several firewalls running at the same time or disks get full or ...
Slow System Boot (Start): Many system get cluttered with unused items in the start-up, resulting in longer and longer delays before you can use the machine.
Endless Looping Start: start-up appears okay but endlessly re-boots.
Slow or Failing Shutdown: When the system will not shutdown properly and you need to check the disks each time you re-start.
System Hangs (Stops): These may be hardware or software.
Software Application Problems: When a needed program stops working.

Site and Home Visits

No obligation site or home estimates are supplied free if you deliver to Bristol PC or are within a 5 mile radius. Beyond that charges are either £5 or £10 depending on distance, payable only if you decide not to proceed.

Visiting Hours

Evening and weekend site/home visits shown below are available at no extra cost.

Normal working hours are-

Weekdays April to October: 9:00am to 8:00pm.
Weekdays November to March: 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Saturday/Sunday mornings: 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Visits can be arranged outside of these hours but may be subject to an extra charge.

Estimates

Free estimates are supplied if any of the following apply:

If you deliver to us.
If you are within 5 miles of us.
If you agree to the estimate.

Otherwise, estimates are: -

£5 if you are 5.1 miles to 10 miles from us.
£10 if you are 10.1 miles to 15 miles from us.

Fixed Price Option

For a no obligation quote e-mail the details of the software problem with as much detail as possible.

Typical faults include - machine hangs (stops), slow system startup, faulty shutdown, virus corruption, registry corruption, application faults and performance issues.

Faults may be intermittent or solid, that is occurring every time a certain event or condition happens or at apparently random intervals. If you see a pattern to the problem, please note it in your e-mail.

Time Charge Option

Many jobs are for a fixed price but if you wish to book a time slot. Labour rates are:-

£25 for up to 30 minutes.
£35 for up to 1 hour.
£45 for up to 1 hour 30 minutes.
£55 for up to 2 hours.

£5 Off for Local Customers.

Within 2 miles of us? Typically Ashton, Ashton Gate, Clifton, Hotwells and some parts of Bedminster and Long Ashton.

Then get a £5 reduction. Just give your post code when you e-mail or phone. Or use Google Maps, select 'directions to here' and enter your post code.

What you will Need

Have the following available for the engineer on a site or home visit -

Your Operating System disk(s).
Application documentation and software if applicable.

It may still be possible to do the job.

For a no obligation quote remember to include -

Details of the fault, when it happens, any error messages and what other software is running.
The Operating System: Windows 95, 98, NT, ME, 2000, XP Home, XP Pro or Linux.
